For more about the rest of the team, other profiles can be found here.

1. Hello Julie, can you tell us a little about your career path?

Hello everyone 🙂 I’ve had a bit of a unique journey. I started off as a graphic designer, before deciding to choose a different path that was more in tune with what I wanted in the long term. Turning toward office management seemed like a natural decision, after all, I’d had few experiences in the sector in the past.

2. How did you get started at Julie Desk?

I was looking for professional experience (a full-time internship) and that’s when Julien contacted me for an interview. I think one of the things they couldn’t ignore was my first name 🙂

3. Can you tell us about your role and describe a typical day at Julie Desk?

I’m Office Manager, which involves taking care of administrative tasks at Julie. I work on accounting tasks and organization and I have to be creative and constantly improve both. Beyond that, I also plan internal events to keep the teams happy, such as Friday Lunch or our Monthly Beer night ( You can find photos on our Instagram > Follow us 🙂 )And sometimes, I like to draw on the office walls :p

4. What advice would you give to someone who’d like to follow in your footsteps?

Adaptation is key to flourishing @JulieDesk. One has to be able to manage priorities and really see what is most important to work on each day, so that one doesn’t waste time on less important tasks.

5. What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced at Julie Desk ?

I place particular importance on people’s preferences at team events. Sometimes that involves picking the right restaurant that pleases everyone, or alternating, so that everyone gets a turn. Sometimes it’s a real puzzle! I’ve honestly become an expert on neighborhood restaurants because of it 🙂

6. Where do you see Julie Desk in 5 years ?

I see Julie Desk continuing to evolve with us by keeping it’s human spirit 🙂

7. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

With a house in the country. A simple, colorful life.

8. Three words to describe you ?

Foodie, “bon vivant”, attentive

9. Something that people don’t know about you that you’d like to share?

MJ forever !

10. What is the first thing you do in the morning? Do you have a routine?

Life doesn’t start until you’ve had good coffee!

11. Favorite app?

Tapage or Bold for restaurant recommendations.

12. Favorite food?

Good lasagna (like Garfield)

13. Favorite quote?

“C’est parfois l’arbre le plus penché qui donne le plus de fruits” my father used to say it.

It means something along the lines of “never judge a book by its cover.”

14. Who inspires you most?

My mother, she knows how to adapt to any situation and always finds the right solutions and the right words.

15. Your favorite memory at Julie Desk ?

I have quite a few, but If I had to choose one it would be last October’s team-building weekend. We had a lot of fun and made a lot of nice memories 🙂

Thanks for telling us a little more about yourself Julie.
