Join the Circle [NEW]

Be courteous to all, but intimate with few, and let those few be well tried before you give them your confidence.George Washington.

Giving an external person the responsibility to control your calendar is a sign of trustJulie chooses time slots in your name, communicates with your interlocutors, etc. But until now, she could not monitor and validate the people with whom you schedule meetings. You, as a user, had to give your approval before Julie would schedule meetings, calls and other appointments with the people who contact you.

This approach makes sense for people you do not know or who are not in your network. After all, we do not want to open the access to your calendar for everybody. However, what about the other people, those you know and trust?

Today, we launch the “Circle of Trust” feature for Julie Desk users! No, it’s not a sect to secretly prepare for the robot invasion (bad joke, I know). It’s a new feature designed to facilitate the meeting scheduling process with the people trusted by our users!

How does it work?

As previously mentioned, when Julie receives a request to schedule a meeting for one of her employers, she systematically asks them for their approval before proceeding further.

But, imagine that the request is from a partner you trust and automatically accept to meet. In this case, asking for your approval can be an unnecessary step that can be removed in order to facilitate the process and limit interactions: with the new Circle of Trust feature, Julie will no longer ask for your approval when it comes to the people you trust; she will directly start the meeting scheduling process.

Who is in my circle of trust?

To separate the people with whom Julie can proactively schedule meetings from the others who still require your approval, she will not rely on her instinct or any other subjective criteria like: “This person seems really nice, I will schedule this meeting!”

No. We implemented the notion of Circle of Trust feature because trust is at the heart of this process.

To let Julie know about the people you trust and with whom she can schedule meetings without your approval, indicate the following details:

  • The email addresses of these people.
  • The domain name that you trust (example: I trust anyone that has a @juliedesk.com address).

This way, once the request is received, Julie will check if the person who sent the request is in the user’s Circle of Trust. If that case, she will schedule the meeting; if not, she will ask the user for his approval, like she already does.

If you are always trusting, you can also ask Julie to trust everybody! However, in this case, every request sent to Julie will result in a meeting scheduled automatically, even if you have not given your approval to meet this person!

Inversely, you can remain cautious and include nobody in your Circle of Trust: every time Julie will receive a request from a third party, she will ask for your approval to schedule the meeting.

Note: In any case, you, as a Julie Desk user, have to be in copy of the meeting request email. Let us remind you that Julie does not have access to your email account or contact list; therefore, if you are not put in copy of the email, Julie will not be able to link the request to your account and will be obliged to ask for precisions, which, in turn, will slow down the process.
